Changes for COA Plus HMO-POS SNP for 2020

There will be no benefit changes in 2020 for CareOregon Advantage Plus. However, there will be some additions that you will want to know about.

OTC Debit Card: increase from $120 per quarter to $130
Gym membership: free Silver&Fit gym membership or at-home fitness kit
Transportation: free rides to and from the gym or pharmacy
Home meal-delivery service: free for post-discharge patients recovering at home

More information about these new benefits can be found in Chapter 4 of your 2020 Evidence of Coverage.

CareOregon Advantage + Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid)

At CareOregon Advantage, we believe every member deserves great care from providers they trust. That’s why we are proud to partner with three Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) that provide Medicaid in our service area. This ensures that your care is coordinated by the CareOregon family.
They are:

Portland metro   Southern Oregon     NW Oregon/Coast

As a current CareOregon Advantage Plus HMO-POS SNP member, you probably already have Medicaid access to our broad network of providers at no cost to you through one of these CCOs.
For the upcoming 2020 plan year, there should be no change or interruption to your Medicaid benefits or your CCO.

What is changing with Medicaid/OHP coverage in the Metro area?

There will be new health plan choices starting in 2020 when a second CCO is added to the Portland Metro Area. CareOregon Advantage Plus members who have their Medicaid through CareOregon + Health Share are exempt from being reassigned to this new CCO by the Oregon Health Plan (OHP).
If this does happen though, members will have an opportunity to switch back if they so choose.

What is changing with Medicaid/OHP coverage in the Southern Oregon and NW Oregon/Coast area?

There will be no changes in either of these regions for 2020.
In Southern Oregon, there is already a second CCO to choose from.  Again, if a CareOregon Advantage member who has Jackson Care Connect is reassigned to the other CCO, they would have the opportunity to switch back to Jackson Care Connect.
In the NW Oregon/Coast area, Columbia Pacific CCO is the only CCO available. It's business as usual.

What does this mean for you?

You will receive a letter from the Oregon Health Plan in the middle of October telling you which CCO will be coordinating your OHP benefits in 2020. If you are assigned to a CCO other than Health Share or Jackson Care Connect, you will have from October 16 through November 17, 2019 to switch back to either of these CCOs.

If you are unable to make the switch this fall, you will have another opportunity from January 1 through March 31, 2020.

Why stay with CareOregon + Health Share or Jackson Care Connect?

Staying with CareOregon + Health Share and/or Jackson Care Connect will allow you to keep the providers you trust while also giving you access to a broad network of additional doctors, dentists, counselors, clinics and hospitals.

Health Share of Oregon is a locally-based non-profit committed to improving health access. And CareOregon, Health Share’s largest health plan, has been helping Oregonians get the health care they need for more than 25 years.

Jackson Care Connect is the only nonprofit CCO in Jackson County, and they are dedicated to empowering people and systems to improve the health of Jackson County.
